You met Daevas in the Ruins of History after sunset who are caught in the dimension and found Essence of Time on them. When you showed it to Shardeil, he asked you to use the Space-Time Controls from Pandaemonium together with the essence and then to use them in the Ruins of History. When you used the Space-Time Controls in the Ruins of History, Daevas appeared who had been freed from that dimension. They told you that they couldn't escape the Rift, which was created by the will of their leader, Berson. So they asked you to defeat Berson. You vanquished Berson and returned to Shardeil.
