When you asked the Talking Mirror at the Fire Temple, it gave you the magical light you needed. After you put magical power into your mirror, you went to Brigade General Perento in New Heiron Gate. He in turn sent you to Piera, who's in charge of keeping track of rifts in the area. Talking to Piera, you discovered that she knows of Alukina's Palace. She offered to direct you to the correct rift if you would share what you've learned with her.
